Among our visits, our talk with David Corey in Santa Maria, California was enjoyable and the wines we brought home were terrific. Dave knows his way around wine and we asked him a few questions on Malbec, since he’s one of the handful of California producers using that grape.

Tasting at “La Cité Mondial du Vin” (above photo) with a touch of lunch, brings out part of the Cahors story. Eight hundred years of growing Malbec gives you some serious street cred. Recall that Gary “the V” did a Malbec video. This tasting featured 6 Malbecs from Argentina, Chili, France (Côtes de Bourg, Cahors). An international competition was anounced for June. Start your engines!
